Hi everyone!
Today I'm on the Citrus twist Kits bog with a layout and a digital file that I created and am sharing with you! :)
Head over there to know how to download it.
Say a little prayer.
I'm not a church girl, but in France, something resonated with all of us in Notre-Dame and in Sacré Coeur. The girls wanted to light a candle. They even wanted to take a coin home, you know, the ones coming out of the press machine?
So anyway, that day, when they lit up a candle, I made a prayer. A prayer of joy and love and healed hearts. And a month later, I know something happened that day. (I'll leave it to that for now. On my blog anyway.)
I doubled the cut file. In white it just didn't pop out enough, and in bleu neither, so I used both. :)
I played with the tones of the background paper to place my elements on this page. The red candles arrive on the most red part of the background and the grey church + the blue jackets of the girls are on the blue part of the background. You can see a pinkish light in the bottom photo, so I placed it in the pink part of the background.
I then placed my embellishments according to the colors as well. The yellow embellishments found a place next to the whitefish yellowish candles. And the blue and white title goes next to the blue part... Would you have noticed all that hadn't I point it out? Do you think of things like that when you build a layout? Or do you just follow your gut? I do a little bit of both. I think I start with my gut and then try to mix in some design principles. :) Following Debbie Hodge at Get it Scrapped, reading her articles on the blog and doing some assignments for her help me so much to notice these small details. :)
So don't forget to download your cut file. :D
Have a wonderful day and talk to you again soon!

Happy Halloween!
Hi everyone!!
Salut tout le monde!!
Today I'd like to show you a page that I made for a project that, sadly, never saw the light of the day...
So anyway, since it's a Halloween layout, I thought it would be fitting to show it to you today. Maybe it will give you some ideas to scrapbook Halloween, or to scrapbook an old picture that you love but that you don't really know what to say about it.
The picture on the right is one of my brother and I at Halloween in 1981. Maybe you have a picture similar to this one. We would stand in front of the door, right before we left for trick or treating, and take a picture. With the flash, please. lol :) Well, let me tell you that years later, I'm so grateful for this picture!! With flash and all. :)
Flash compris. :)
Look at our costumes! lol Plastic overall that we would put over our snow suit. Yes, in Canada, Halloween is cold!
The second picture is one of my daughters, last year, as we went to Disney to celebrate Halloween. Now that we live so close (8 hours by car), we couldn't let the occasion go!! :)
My title says: When I was young... (with the emphasis on the I) And the journaling talks about the costumes. :)
My background is an ombre watercolor wash that forms a square and I stitched around it with black thread.
I then created a stencil with my Silhouette.
Lifting up the stencil is always a fun moment!! :)
Happy with the result:
Contente du résultat:
I added black elements to add some oomph to my page: labels and a flair from Pretty Little Studio and that BEAUTIFUL die cut that remind me so much of the sticker collection I had when I was young!!! Also from Pretty Little Studio. Check out their Halloween collection. It's just gorgeous! And perfect for scrapping your Halloween pages!!
I also added that crown paperclip to add to my little Elsa princesses. :)
There you go! Hope you like my layout and I most of all hope that you are inspired and ready to create some beautiful memories of your own. :)

Get it Scrapped | The Hungry Jpeg
Hi everyone!
Salut tout le monde!
You might have seen this on Instagram already, yesterday I was taking part of an article over at Get it Scrapped about ideas for designing with fonts on your layouts. I received the huge bundle of fonts that you can find at The Hungry JPEG for a very low price this month (you still have 11 days to take advantage of the special price, go check it out!!) and I got to create 3 layouts that would include fonts.
Playing with font is so awesome! To me it's a customizable embellishment. I had many ideas but I chose 3. Since at Get it Scrapped I only share the main picture of my pages, I wanted to use my blog to show you the details and maybe some more explanations about my process, as I always do.
As I said it in the article, what inspired me a lot in this bundle were the images representing the fonts. A lot of them were represented in white over a watercolor wash background and that gave me the idea of doing just that: a watercolor background with a white word over it. Also, some of the fonts were really elegant and gave me the urge to scrapbook my wedding dress!
So I started with a lilac wash on watercolor paper since lilac was our wedding color. I painted in a circle making sure that I left some white spaces. I really love the look of the strokes and puddles of watercolor. I then stitched all around with silver thread.
This little bouquet of flower is one of the illustrations offered with one of the fonts. I had to work quite a bit to create the white contour. I wish I'd be better with Photoshop. I finally made it to print and cut the flowers with my Silhouette. I tied the little bouquet with some tiny staples and added a little bit of pink with this flair.
My title was also cut with my Silhouette in regular white cardstock. Lots of fonts in the bundle are GREAT for welding, just like this one.
When I saw the fonts that were outlined, I immediately thought embroidery. And here's my layout.
So I printed on a 12x12 white paper my title in a very pale grey and I stitched along the lines, changing the color of thread so that I have a rainbow.
At the top of my page I added 4 rectangles. One of them is a photo, 2 of them are mated photos, and the fourth one is a mini file-folder containing my journaling.
At the very very end I added some mini stamped stars.
For my third page, I've cut out a word in a watercolor paper on which I had added a nice warm palette of colors.
And I used the small illustrations coming with the font to create a one of a kind patterned paper.
There you go, I gotta run!!
Alors voilà :)
Talk to you soon!
On se revoit bientôt!!

Silhouette - a tutorial and a journaling card
Hi everyone!
Because you were many to ask how I made this and to ask if I would share them, I decided to show you how I made my journaling cards that I showed you yesterday on Instagram.
Before we start though, I've been asked if it was easy to use a Silhouette Cameo. I'm not going to lie, there's a learning curve to it. It takes time to get to know the machine and especially the program. Then you have to practice and it takes, or at least it took me several trials and errors before I was able to use it more or less easily. But once you get the hang of it, once you master the machine, you will surely LOVE it!! :) Oh and there's a 25% on everything in store right now and until the end of October I believe.
So here's how you can make a card of your own, using my cut file.
Alors voici comment reproduire mes cartes.
First you can download my cut file by clicking on THIS LINK and by saving it onto your computer "save as". You can then open the file with your Silhouette. I know the cut file is in French, but I promise to make other ones in English before we start working on our December Daily. :) Once you opened your files, your screen should look something like this (see below). I decided to copy and paste my image to make 2 cards at once. If you decide to do so too, then just make sure you leave enough space between the two words so that you can have 2 3x4 cards.
After that, you want to trace de two words. You click on the yellow and blue butterfly shape in the upper right corner of your screen and you select your two words by clicking and dragging. Make sure everything is selected! Uncheck the "high pass filter" box and put up the threshold so that the whole words are highlighted in yellow. You can then click on "trace".
Once the red lined appeared, move the black image away and delete it by selecting it and clicking delete on your keyboard.
Now you can go to the cutting menu (the pen in the upper right corner), select your material (Printable foil in this case. I bought mine at Michaels for 2$.) and make sure that the "double cut" is checked! Adjust your blade and go ahead and have the machine cut the foil. What you want to keep from this cut is the word itself and all the little pieces (accents, hyphen and dots on the e). You then want to cut again the exact same image but this time in white cardstock. This time you want to keep the base of the card and the inside pieces of the words: the inside of the P, of the 2 Es, of the O and of the L. When you do your second cut, don't forget to change your material in the menu (from foil to cardstock) and to change your blade length.
And this:
Et à ceci:
You will then have to cut a 3x4 card in white card stock (or two, if you are making 2 at the same time, like me) because we're going to adhere all of our pieces onto that card base.
Adhere the background first, and then you can fill in the gaps and play like when you are making a small puzzle. To glue the very tiny pieces, I used a glue pencil. it's like a ballpoint pen but with glue inside.
Once all your parts are adhered, you are done! I will round the corners, but that's up to you. Sometimes I like to let my very special cards with square corners just to give them a little bit more importance in my album. :)
See how it looks flat from the side. :) It's beautiful!
And now the challenge will be to put them somewhere we will find them again when Christmas comes around. ;)
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial. Don't hesitate to pin it to Pinterest so that you can find it back quickly and so that your friends can find it too. :) Oh and while you're here, I'd love it if you could become a follower of my blog and/or of my Facebook page so you won't miss anything of what is coming before Christmas. Get it Scrapped | A tree made out of gold
Hi everyone!
Today on the Get it Scrapped blog you'll find inspiration about using negative space on your layout.
I love getting assignments for Get It Scrapped because it ALWAYS makes me think further than I normally would. For this page, I was trying to find an original and creative way to used a silhouette cut out.
What came to my mind was this tree layout I made a couple of months ago. I loved it so much and worked quite a bit on this tree cut file so I wanted to used it once more. This time I thought it would be perfect to document Arielle's tree that she was so sad to leave behind when we moved. Here's my page:
This time, I've cut the tree slightly larger than I did last time. I backed it with a beautiful green patterned paper and I cut the tree a second time on some gold textured cardstock so I could use the leaves as layers. I glued some leaves in a random pattern over the green leaves, making sure to leave one end of the leave unglued. It gives lovely dimension to my page.
I adhered the picture with foam dots.
The green letters are vellum sticker letters from Pretty Little Studio. And the gold "GOLD" is my handwriting and was cut out in the same gold cardstock I used for the leaves and the frame around the page using my Silhouette.
I layered some white, gold and green ribbons that I adhered with hot glue to give the impression that they are flowing (vs stitching them down).
I stitched around the page with some golden thread.
Voilà. :)
Hope I could inspire you to use your Silhouette. There are so many other ways I could have played with the negative space! If you do something that was inspired by this blog post, please link me up! :) I'd love to see it.

It's a love story: He was a boy, She was a girl
Hi everyone!!
I already told you this: one of my favorite episode of Paperclipping Roundtable was the show about "love stories". After listening to this episode I always feel like I was 10 more stories to scrapbook. :)
For this page about a love story, made for Get it Scrapped, I went back into my head and heart and tried to find out little things that I would like to tell about Patrick and I when we met, 15 years ago! Several stories resurfaced, but in the end, I chose this one:
I made my tree using my Silhouette Cameo. I found a file in the store and I modified it quite a bit.
I then adhered little leaves behind every hole.
The little frames are also from the Silhouette store.
I wish you a wonderful Valentine's day tomorrow! Lot's of love and chocolate!
And I hope to see you here again soon.

You can read the journaling here:
The tree was inspired by a page by Wilna. The tree was the perfect symbol for my page. I remember when we got married, we had to take a premarital class and the teacher told us that there was a tree between us that would want to grow and that we would have to take care of it so that it doesn't get too big so that we can't see each other anymore…. many many years later, i still remember this story so it was only natural that I put it here, not in words, but in the form of an image.
