Happy Halloween! :)

Hi everyone!!

While most of the people where watching the Red Sox yesterday, I was….
Pumpkin Carving!!!! :D

It's not one of my favorite activities, but, like making a cake, it's something that in my mind, I have to do. It's hard, it's half fun, half painful, but in the end I'm happy that I did it! :) + It gives me something to scrapbook about. Maybe.

So for your entertainment, here are the two pumpkins I came up with yesterday.

And just to prove that these are really pumpkins, here is the owl one with the lights on. ;)

I'm pretty happy with the result. And I was happy to see the reaction of my little ones this morning when I showed them the pictures of the pumpkins. Arielle was sad though when I told her that no, that wasn't the pumpkin she would use to collect the candies. … ??? right? ;)

So anyway, we've been into Halloween pretty much since a week now! The girls could wear their costumes at dance. Here is Arielle with her friend Madison who's coming trick or treating tonight with us. :)

And here's Maya (on the left with the yellow skirt. She's being Belle.)

Trying to find a costume in which they can dance can be tricky, especially as both wanted to be princesses with really really really long dresses!! They are all girl!

And this morning Arielle had a costume parade in school. There was a 5 second time frame for a picture…. It wasn't quite enough to get a good one….

But Arielle was pretty excited to see me there and well, I never achieved over the years to get one single good Halloween picture of the girls, but it's always enough to keep the memories alive, I think.

Today afternoon Maya and I are invited to Arielle's class for a special Halloween party. I'll try to get some more decent pictures there. And tonight we are having our friends over for dinner and we will all go treat or treating together and we are all looking forward to that and are pretty happy and excited!!

I hope you all have a nice Halloween evening!!
Stay safe!!

Me - Random Facts

Hi everyone!
I have another page to show you that has been inspired by our class "Il était use fois…MOI!" (Once upon a time me. This time I made a miss mash of random facts that happened while I was young.

I started the page as my friend Geneviève was here last Friday and we chatted and "worked" on it the whole night…well, we started at 3:30 am….. didn't sleep one minute, and I wasn't happy with the result because it wasn't feeling me. When Gen left I slept, first, :), and then I worked on the page. Took away some paper, added rub-ons and other embellishments and I made it mine. :) I had fun with Gen working on it though. It's fun to see how two different minds work…well….differently! :)

Ok, so here is the final "me" version. :)

Thanks for looking!! :)

Project Life - Week 41 & 42

Hi everyone!

With these 2 weeks, you (and I) will be up to date with the viewing of my Project Life album! Wow! That was intense!! :) Still 10 weeks to go and the year will be over, another album (2 volumes) will sit on my shelve, ready to be viewed now and later. It's good stuff, my friends! If you haven't tried it yet, YOU SHOULD!!!

Week 41

This week, on Monday, we had our friends from Switzerland leaving. Some tears were shed. I used the little card "smile" to document it, because of the tears... :)

I love school pictures since I would love to have some from me as I was in school, other than the obligatory school portrait at the beginning of the school year.

I also love when once a month, they let us peek through the door or the window at dance class.

This week, we went to Toronto, Patrick and I, while my mom and dad were home with our kids. It's sad that I don't have one single picture of my parents....
I used an insert to document our trip. We went to Toronto to meet one of our dearest Swiss friend who lives in Brazil since some years now. We hadn't seen him in 3 years! It was a great trip and a great trip with him. I took lots of pictures of him and Patrick talking together. I was so happy for them!!

The grey card is part of the insert, and the picture of them is on the right page of the spread (if that makes sense).... This cute sticker was found in my Studio Calico PL Kit, Double Scoop I believe,

I had a little heart break when I saw this. We had to keep left....

A selfie of "us" had to fit somewhere in the album!! :)

This is when the insert is flipped.

I took lots of pictures of Canada flags!!! Speaking about Rootless (refering to the Paperclipping Roundtable episode I was on), I don't think I am quite as rootless as I like to say it. ;)

This is a nice coffee stop, at the lake in Toronto. At the foot of the CN Tower. Gorgeous weather, nice friends, lots of catching up to do! It was awesome!!!
Oh and this is the first time I put a hotel room key in my album. I couldn't find it when it was time to check out and I found it when we arrived home. ;)

She is Brazilian, so they brought us to a Brazilian restaurant when we drank Guarana for the first time. If you can try that some day, do so. :)

Week 42

That week was quieter. No friends coming over, no trip planned..... Just the normal life. I'm always surprised at how quickly my PL pages fill up, even when we have nothing "special" going on. And I let go of a lot of things!!!! (Maybe I shouldn't do that.)

This is how school looks like for her....and for her.... :)

Here's a small place dedicated to my passion! And a little anecdote that happened while the girls were playing hide and seek. It was hilarious and I had my iPhone in my hand (one of these times where I think, fortunate that I have that thing in my hand all the time!) so I snapped some pictures and even though they are far from great I am so thankful that I do have them to tell this story that would have otherwise been forgotten.

Some small additions to my photos. The 1 and 2 were from the Antiquary kit from Studio Calico.

And to take advantage of one of the last nice weeks of the year (boohoo!!!), we went for a day in New york City!! YAY!!!!! :) Just the 4 of us. It was the first time that we didn,t have guests to lead around and to adapt to. it was awesome!

The front and the back of that 4x6 card are full! :)

I took loads of pictures of "us" (them). Not so much of the city. I think the best part was that we were together. the four of us.

I managed to have a small scrapbooking moment just for me, too. :)

And I played tourist with my camera around my neck, and really, I didn't care that much about what other people think! :)

And on Sunday we went geocaching for the second time. This might become a really fun family activity/tradition. It was really fun!!

There you go guys!! :)
I'll try to keep up with the weeks to come!! No more falling behind. ;)

Talk to you soon!!!

Project Life - Week 39 & 40

Hi everyone!
Here are my weeks 39 and 40. :)

Week 39

This week was very exciting since i was on the Paperclipping Roundtable!!! I was nervous but Izzy and Noell managed to calm me down in about one minute!! :D It was a great experience!! To document it I took a selfie of myself "during" (it was actually at the vey very end) the recording and I wrote about how it was from when  I received the invitation to the moment of the recording.

I also included a screenshot of my phone once the show was online and we could see my name as a guest. I wrote the introduction from Izzy :) and the title and number of the episode. and Then the introduction of the guests by Noell.

I added an insert this week. It's the e-mail i got from Noell with the questions that would be asked during the show. I added some thoughts (in red) and printed it. I also had put a little note on my door saying that people should ring the doorbell or know on the door. I added it in my insert. :) Under the card "extraordinary Goodness" on the bottom right, I have a whole lot of journaling. The title is: what happened during these 2 hours of recording. :)

My spread this week is kept very very simple. Sometimes, some beautiful pictures and some words are really all that are needed!!

Here are my two little girls, sharing one desk, even though we bought them each one. :) I live to see these small moments full of love!!!

That week we had guests from Switzerland. Tom was living with Patrick and I when I first moved to Switzerland, 15 years ago. We lived all three together for 2 years! Because our friends were here, Patrick took one day off to spend the day with them, and because of that, he was able to come with us to the bus stop for the first time since the beginning of the school year. On this photo I used a small digital element from either the midnight edition. I added it on the photo in Photoshop and printed the photo like that. It's a neat and very simple addition.

Another great thing that happened this week is the rock climbing. It's a new family activity that patrick wanted to try for a long time and we finally went and discovered that Arielle has an extraordinary ability to climb. We had fun and it was really great family quality time!!! I have tons of pictures, but i tried to limit myself to 3 pictures, the business card and some words.

I worked on that specific picture with the app "a beautiful mess". That's how I added the She is 5. in yellow.

Week 40

The main activity, that we did over and over again this week, was to go walk at the river. I went with Maya while Arielle was in school and dad at work. It was fun to be just the two of us, outside, enjoying the warm weather, the fresh air and the beautiful colors. The real story is that I don't like fall. I don't like it because it means the end of the summer which I LOVE!. So this year I had to make a fall layout for the Design Team @ Get it Scrapped and I made it a quest to find the beauty in the fall. I must say that I really enjoyed that week!

Again, beautiful photos and words. Thats all is needed. :)

This week, we also got visitors from Switzerland. This time it was our dearest neighbors!! Bot were working with Patrick and we were living on the same floor during 2 years. We would just open the door, take one step and we were there. We had great meals together and we have nice memories of them. When they visited us, that week, we hadn't seen them for almost 4 years. They brought us loads of nice gifts!! One of them is this stuffed animal which is a "worries eater". You stick your worries inside it's mouth and it's gone! :) We also received chocolate, mustard (!!) and other things that we really appreciated. :) We brought our friends for a Hibashi evening. They do have it in Switzerland, but it's not affordable. We also went Geocaching, another favorite activity of ours. It was raining a little, but we were together, in the forest and we really had fun!! :) I tried to capture all of this with 5 photos and two journaling cards. :)

And finally, some more climbing pictures. Maya and Arielle. :) They are so precious!!

There you go! I hope you can find some inspiration for your own Project Life album!! It can be so easy and simple and yet so rich and beautiful!!
