cute owl birthday card

Hi everyone!

In the spirit of the crafty challenge, I used a kraft colored baker's twine this week. 

I colored the image with water based ink mixed with water. The colors are much more vibrant than when I use my water color palette. I love it!

This little owl continues to be one of my very favorite stamp! :)

Art Impressions challenge: Krafty

Hi everyone! 

A new challenge at Art impressions: get krafty! Do a card or project with something "kraft". I loved making my card for this challenge!

I embossed this woodgrain background with some "white-gold"embossing powder that I found in a Christmas marker in Switzerland, years ago!! I love the result!!

Project Life - Week 05

Hi everyone!

Here's my week 5 of Project Life:

The cards, in case you wonder, are mainly from the Amy Tangerine mini kit and have been modified with bubble sofa and food coloring during Ali Edward's workshop at the Play Event held by Big Picture Classes in Anaheim. :) I found that my cards had a little "dirty" feel, but when put all together, they look just fine so that makes me happy. It's like two stones in one: having my memories of that week recorded + the memories of the making of the journaling cards.

The "yes" is a stamp that I carved during Elise Blaha's workshop, also at the Play Event in Anaheim.

Project Life - Week 4

Hi everyone!!

My Project Life album is going strong! :)

I'm up to date.

Here is my week 4:

On ething I am doing different this year is writing the Week # every week. It's making things much simpler. For the blogging part anyway. And also to have a better idea of where I am and where I have to go.

Another thing I do different this year: I use my products!!! Yes, not only the papers grow old and get untrendy, but also all these small bits and pieces of embellishment so I thought I'd better use them right now. :)

We have winter break here so I'm going to Canada tomorrow for the week. :) 

I heard there's a lot of snow there. Will be fun…. or not so much. We'll see.

Happy Velentine's Day!

Hi everyone!!

Happy Valentine's Day! :)

I made some Valentines this year with the girls. 23 with my oldest who is in kindergarten and 18 with my youngest who is in Pre-school. It was fun! My new Ai Valentine stamps made it fun, fast and easy!! 

I used the Tweetheart set for my youngest and the Has Hugz set for my oldest. I only stamped with staz on ink on watercolor paper and they colored with water based ink diluted with water. When the images were dry, I went over it and added some details, like the beak and legs of the little birdie and a little background behind the bird to cover the imperfections. As you see, the girls did a very nice job and I think these stamps are perfect for coloring in with watercolor since it's very forgiving and we don't have to stay in the lines perfectly.

Here is my take on the same stamp. Of course it's the card I made to show them how to color their images. That's why they look alms the same. :) 

I added the sentiment in a speech bubble that I die cut from a piece of watercolor paper on which I had made a wash of the same color I used to color the image.

It's a love story: He was a boy, She was a girl

Hi everyone!!

I already told you this: one of my favorite episode of Paperclipping Roundtable was the show about "love stories". After listening to this episode I always feel like I was 10 more stories to scrapbook. :)
For this page about a love story, made for Get it Scrapped, I went back into my head and heart and tried to find out little things that I would like to tell about Patrick and I when we met, 15 years ago! Several stories resurfaced, but in the end, I chose this one:

The tree was inspired by a page by Wilna. The tree was the perfect symbol for my page. I remember when we got married, we had to take a premarital class and the teacher told us that there was a tree between us that would want to grow and that we would have to take care of it so that it doesn't get too big so that we can't see each other anymore…. many many years later, i still remember this story so it was only natural that I put it here, not in words, but in the form of an image. 

I made my tree using my Silhouette Cameo. I found a file in the store and I modified it quite a bit.
I then adhered little leaves behind every hole.

The little frames are also from the Silhouette store.
