Citrus Twist Kits | First time mommy

Hi everyone!

Here's the second page I made with the November 2015 Add-on kit from Citrus Twist Kits.

This page will not go in Arielle's album. It will go in MINE! It's more about how I felt when I became a mom. I have a page that goes more into the everyday life details. This one is more focusing on that exact moment when I became a mom. I look very tired and young on this picture (I had just turned 31 two weeks before) but I love it and I'm happy that it's now in my album and not only on my hard drive.

I'm happy about my title. It's very dimensional and fun.

There's one paper in the kit that is a bunch of images. I cut them all out and I had fun layering them. I added a few stickers and elements from the alphas to give more dimension and interest.

Here you can see some stitching and layering.

All these word stickers are gold foil on white background. To me, stickers always fell like flat and boring. There's no texture in them and them adhere perfectly flat on something (vs die cuts which you can lift and curl a little). So to give them a little extra something, I stitched right through them.

I would encourage you now to go to your picture library and find the pictures that resonate with you. Which ones give you shivers? Print them out (now) and make a page, even if it's a simple one with only a few thoughts scribbled down. It's totally worth it!

See you tomorrow for my next layout made with the Add-on kit. :)

Entre Artistes | Scrapbooker of the year Part 2 of 4

Hi everyone!

If you missed the first part of this series, you might want to start reading here to know what I'm talking about. :)

Ok, so today I'll share another layout. This time I had to make an auto-portrait. The page had to represent my style and talk about me. Here's what I made:

For these little squares, I'm almost shy to say that this was a cardstock that I had pull out of the trash can. I had been working on a layout and wasn't happy with my background…. I don't even remember what I used for the paint. Probably a simple watercolor kit for children.

Notice the stitching on a couple of the squares? I had stitched in a circle on the entire background. When I cut it apart, I made sure that small pieces of that stitching would show. I had also used some of the Heidi Swapp Color Magic golden spray. I love the effect of the brilliance.

On the squares I'm talking about small special facts about me.  The subjects include: traveling dreams, my biggest fear, my passion, my dreams, I'm happy when, I'm proud of myself when…, I'm sad when…, my wishes for my daughters.

I rememeber I had just stocked up on the brand new Heidi Swapp products. :) I wasn't cheap on the layering. ;)  And the fine golden lines are a foil that I sticked to some lines I had made with a glue roller pen. Same thing for the golden dots.

I wanted to make something that hadn't yet been seen. And so I began to form my style… :) I can't say that this is very innovative, but for me it was all new and different than what I was used to create.

I still love the small watercolor pieces.

Thanks for looking!
Stay tunes for the rest.

Gallery wall - scrapbooking yourself

Hi everyone!

Here's a page I made for Getitscrapped.com
We had to make a page representing ourselves.

I decided to use some of my favorite pictures: one of me and my family when I was about 3 years old, one of me and my family now, and a big panoramic one at my favorite place on earth (Half Moon Cay).

I added a quote that I love and that I never want to loose sight of. I printed it on some hand made paper with small flowers and leaves in it.

And I incorporated some work of art that I made myself. I mounted these little cuties on frames that were cut with the silhouette and made gold with Heidi Swapp's Gold Lamé Color Shine spray mist.

I also printed my (now famous) picture of my brother and I on the cover of the Toronto Sun which I printed on normal white printing paper to give it a feel of a newspaper.

In the middle I used a postcard that I bought in Vienne at the Hundertwasser museum, museum that inspired me very very much!!! This postcard is very precious to me and I was not sure if I should put it on a page but I decided to do so because I feel like I'll see it more there than in a box somewhere and also because I have already done a page on my trip to Vienna and the postcard didn't make it on the page so I figure it's place is here, on this page.

For my journaling I wrote down things about me and my relationship to Art.

I mounted my whole page on a golden card stock and I stitched all around with some gold thread.
I really love this page! It's totally me!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
