Here are my projects:

This page is the first one I made in over a month and a half. For those who are following me, you know that I'v been moving. I couldn't wait to get my studio back and to get back to creating!! During the move, my printer was damaged and so for these 2 projects I had to work with pictures I had on hand. This one is one of the rare pictures I have of my grand-parents. I don't have a digital file for it and I was seriously wondering if I should put it on a layout, just like that. Finally I decided to go for it. I'd rather have in on a page that might age awkwardly than to have it somewhere in a box. And that story that I'm telling with it is one I wanted to tell for a long long time.

Here are some details of the products I used and things I've done:

These labels and gold foil letters stickers are from Pretty Little Studio and are some of my GO TO products for every project I make!

Here, the cloud is from Pretty Little Studio, as well as the yellow flair I used to create the sun. The sun rays are made with the cutest tinniest wooden triangles from Pinkfresh Studio. So so cute!!

These letters that i mounted on a golden glittery ribbon are from Pinkfresh studio. There are mint green and the stripes are a gold foil. Just GORGEOUS!!!

This cute little house is a puffy sticker from Pinkfresh Studio. It's the cutest!!!

On the side of my picture I layers some vellum from the Marigold collection by Pretty Little Studio as well as some patterned papers, a golden doily and some cute little woodgrain tabs also from Pretty Little Studio. I use these all the time. They are so versatile!

Here's my second layout:

This is a page about my daughter's 3 year. I decided to pinpoint some main things that happened when she was 3. (She just turned 4)

My favorite part about this layout are the bright and colorful strips on which I wrote my journaling. They are patterned papers from Pretty Little Studio (Baby Claire and Baby Jack Collections) that I cut and arrange to give an ombre effect. Simple enough. :)

The wooden triangles I used on my previous page are here used as bullet points. :)

Here I used different little pieces from Pretty Studio and Pinkfresh Studio (stars and sequins, butterflies, brads) and some more pieces that were on my table.

 Here too, I just added some more cute awesomeness (enamel stickers, butterflies, sequins)

The I love you… came from a journaling card that I cut out with my scissors.

A very special blog tour

THE FAVORITE SCRAPBOOKERS BLOG TOUR

I am so honored today! Amy Kingsford, a dear friend I met through Get it Scrapped and a fantastic designer and scrapbooker that I admire, just designed me as one of her favorite scrapbooker. She is also one of my favorite scrapbooker!!!! Thank you for that, Amy!!!

Now it's my turn to share a little bit about my scrapbooking. 

WHAT AM I WORKING RIGHT NOW?

To be honest, I haven't scrapbook in a month! We are moving (can it take 4 weeks to move? yep, it sure can) and my scrap room just came out of the boxes this morning! :) So right now I am working on organizing my new studio and getting ready for my next assignments! YAY!

and some fun projects to create for a French-Canadian company which I am so happy to be part of. 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE ME TO CREATE A PROJECT?

Once I have my idea and my photos, it takes me about 2 to 5 hours depending on the technique I decided to use. When I work with my Silhouette or with watercolor, it can take me a long time!!

WHAT ARE MY FAVORITE THINGS TO CREATE WITH AT THE MOMENT?

What I love right now are gold embellishments of all kind! 

Gold ribbon, thread and bakers twine

golden flair and gold splatters

Gold foil and gold color shine

Gold rub-ons

Gold letter stickers and thickets

gold velum embellishments

HOW DOES MY WRITING / CREATIVE PROCESS WORK?

My writing is the center of my pages. To me a story is told with words so once I have my story, I choose a picture, or lots of pictures to illustrate the story and I leave room for the words, always! And then I choose papers and embellishments. When choosing my papers and embellishments, I'm not looking for the products to match the colors of the picture, I'm rather looking for some colors that won't make me cringe. lol I'm looking for colors that complement my pictures.

You can see here how I used greens and gold  and the purple of the patterned paper isn't the purple of my daughter's skirt and the blue of the button isn't the blue of the chair but the triangle created by the 3 blue elements leads the eye around the page.

HOW DO I BECOME INSPIRED AND STAY INSPIRED?

I am very inspired by stories I hear from others. Ali Edwards is very generous with the stories she tells from her everyday life and most of the time, when I read her writing, it sparks an idea in my head about my own life. I won't tell it the same way though. I have my own way of telling a story and my own words. I also am very inspired by articles I read from the hands free mama and by a book called Writing Motherhood. These are both about living with kids and they hold great subjects to scrapbook about.

I'm also inspired when I look at other scrapbooker's pages that I love. I have them all together on my Pinterest board and my favorite scrapbookers have their own board. A couple of them are Wilna Furstenberg, Celine Navarro, Heidi Swapp, Dear Lizzy and Amy Kingsford to only name a few. :)


WHAT IS MY SIGNATURE STYLE?

Oh my, that's a tough question. I don't really know what my style is. I know that I always start my pages with a story and that I like vibrant and crisp colors. I also love to use lots of smaller pictures on one layout. And I love to mix stories together....

Pretty Little Studio | Make a wish

Hi everyone!

I am saddened today to tell you that this is the last page I made for Pretty Little Studio.

If you haven't have the chance yet to go check out the blog and shop over there, now would be a good time to do so before you forget that they exist and that they offer FABULOUS stuff!!!

Pretty Little Studio is a home based company, located here in the USA (South Carolina). Melissa is the owner and she does everything herself, in her home office: die cuts, flairs, patterned paper, journaling cards, you name it! I had so much fun working with all the collections, adding special touches and unique elements to my pages.

So now onto my page:

It's a page about my daughter's 6th birthday. I'm talking about her wish she made when she blew out the candle. :)

I used this little guy in the car die cut because her wish had to do with colorful cars. By layering it over a polaroid chipboard frame by Maggie Holmes, it makes it pop out.

These small labels can always be used on any project!! I never have enough of them.

And this small journaling card was the perfect match for my journaling.

Thank you so much Melissa for having me on the team. It's an experience that I will cherish for a very long time!! And now that we live so close to another, I'm very excited to come and meet you! :)

Pretty Little Studio | You are amazing

Hi everyone!!

This week at Pretty Little Studio the Out Of The Box challenge is to make a page with as a starting point, this image:

What do you see when you look at this?

I see two large rectangles and in my head they could translate to two pictures.
I see nice large stripes on the right. Maybe labels or some sort of longish die cuts next to my pictures? Washi tape maybe?
I see wood texture. Dark wood.
I see hand writing. I see paperclips.
I see washi tape rolls. See, the stripes could really be washi tape!
I see thick buttons, or brads?? I see a wooden squirrel.
I see red and pinks, teal, bold yellow….

And from there, I plunge into my page! :)
First I need a story and two photos.
I gather my material that fits with the list I just made and I play! Looking at the reference picture from time to time. To refresh the feeling of it.
And here's the final result:

Do you see all the elements I listed? Most of them. :)

I so love the Pretty Little Studio's big die cuts titles!! Look at how special they are!
With some drops of black ink, it makes everything pop out! :)
