Hip Kit Club DT | A scrapbook Layout

Hi everyone!!

Today I am sharing a page I made with the BEAUTIFUL March 2016 Main kit from Hip Kit Club. I also used a little bit of elements from the March 2016 PL kit and the March 2016 Embellishments kit.

My little one just lost her first tooth and I promised her a layout. :)

That first photo is a little bit disgusting (I'm sorry) but it shows how she was determined to get that tooth out! It was time! lol  So I used that beautiful paper from Pinkfresh Studio. I loved the colors in it and that straight line to anchor my photos and embellishments on the side.

Look at that silver glitter foam word with the pink side!!! Oh my! So gorgeous!! I anchored that one with some yellow washi tape and this cute vellum ruler.

These little silver "sprinkles" are the inside of the letters of the word Loveliness. I put them there to attract the eye to the label saying "Just want to spend time with you".

And some more embellishments up there. I was careful to balance the colors and textures...

Before I go I would like to tell you that this is my last month with Hip Kit Club. You'll know why pretty soon. But even if I'm not on the team in April, I would like for you to go have a look at the gorgeous kits that are coming:

Here's an overview of all the kits:

Inspiration | Wilna Furstenberg

Hello everyone!!

Today I was reminded that I made a mini album for my dad for our Christmas gift exchange and I never showed it to you. The story of last December is this: I was leaving for Canada mid-month and before I left i have 16 DT layouts to finish and post online or schedule (!!!) + I was working on my December Daily, I made my Christmas cards one by one, I helped in my daughter's classes...I was just in a big big rush!! So when I decided to do the album for our gift exchange, I knew it had to come together quickly, like, in one evening!! The obvious to me was to take something I had seen done my one of my biggest inspiration, if not MY BIGGEST inspiration: Wilna Furstenberg and to just do the same! I had all the material since over a year I just had to find the purpose of the album and to assemble and journal. Easy enough!

So for my dad I wanted to make a kind of walk back memory lane with him. I used pictures and stories from when my brother and I were between 3 and 14 and I shared stories and said thank you. :)

Here it is:

So the base is a mini chalkboard that stands on it own. Just like Wilna, I stamped and embossed "with all my love" (stamps from Heidi Swapp), I added a large camera jewelry paint drops and chipboard pieces. And a little bit of journaling to introduce the content of the album.

Each page consist of a photo on top and the journaling inside of the little file folder.

So here's the photo decorated. (Papers and embellishments are from Heidi Swapp)

And when you open the little page, there's the journaling. I started each block of journaling by the prompt I remember and I went to town with my memories. :)

Page 5 has no inside. I wrote the journaling directly on the first page with the photo.

Even though i didn't come up with the concept, I was really happy with my mini album. With all the pages I have to create for my design teams each month, it was a nice break for my brain. I still got to be creative, I still got a nice final result, and I had so much fun creating it!!!

If you would like to make this mini album too, I can direct you to Wilna's website where you can buy the tutorial. It's right here

Have a great day!!! Thanks for stopping by. :)

Hip Kit Club DT | Project Life

Hi everyone!!

Here's another Project Life Spread made with the February Hip kit Club PL Kit!

This month's kit was very colorful and I loved integrating the navy blue to my spread.

Left page:

These alphas are so so fun!!! I loved mixing the colors.

Here I used a journaling sticker found in the Amy tangerine sticker book.

This patterned paper from Amy tangerine is probably my favorite of this month's kit. I love the happy but still subtle colors and the touch of navy blue. I layered a chipboard and a crook heart + a small label from Heidi Swapp and a black foam star.

You might remember that i added money to a pocket using my fuse tool to close the pocket, but before I closed it I added the message I got from my fortune cookie because it seemed fitting with what was happening at that time. Does that sometimes happen to you?? It's not the first time that it happens to me and overtime I find it so creepy... lol

Some stickers, chipboard and enamel dots here and there.

And here a whole lot of stickers to cover an empty and ugly ara of my photo. I might have gone overboard a little.... but oh well. Once a sticker is on a photo, don't mess with it. :)

Here's the business card of the Quirky Nook, the Easy shop where I bought my bracelet. If you love hand made jewelry and great color combos and don,t know the Quirky Nook yet, I urge you to go visit her!!!! Christine is just awesome. She's a great artist and a good soul. Say hi from me. :) Oh and if you end up buying a piece of jewelry, you'll have this beautifl ephemera to add to your PL spread. ha! :)

Right page:

Here again, the dark navy blue was perfect to go with our evening/date night picture. And these minor embellishment.... hmmm. LOVE!

Lots of alphas in the kit to write things that should make a big impact.

I used a speech bubble as a journaling spot.

Here again, the mirror embellishment from Pink Paislee. So precious. Just like my two little girls.

On this card I went all yellow. It makes me happy.

And I finished with a mix of stickers on a gorgeous patterned paper.

Et voilà!

Another spread done! :)

See you soon!!
