December Daily 2015

Hi everyone!

How are you all doing? :)

I'd like to share with you a couple of pages from my December Daily album. I am drowning in work but I can't not have this baby on my blog. :) So here are just the first pages for now. Expect to see more soon.

I went with a beautiful golden album from Becky Higgins this year. The format of a full page protector is 6x8 and it's a lovely size to work with.

I have several products to work with. I bought Ali Edwards' main kit, Citrus Twist Kits December Documented Kit and almost the whole Pretty little Studio collection. I have a couple of little gems left from my Hip Kit Club December Documented kit that I used for my December Daily 2009 album I made in November. Of course I still have boxes full of goodies left from past years too.

The first page of my album is one from Ali Edwards' kit. I love the simplicity of the white with a sprinkle of gold foiled stars. I simply added 2015 red Thickers that I stitched in place with gold thread.

Day 1: The return of our Elf Harmony and the advent's calendars she brought.

On that page I love the mix of red and kraft. With my kraft custom journaling card, I wanted to give the feel of the gifts that our Elf brought. It's also because that song, My favorite things from the Sound of Music is one of our family favorite. :) I also love the touches of red foil (Washi tape on the tags) and gold foil (journaling card).

Day 2: Someone looses a tooth and our Elf fills in for the Tooth Fairy. + Glowing noses and antlers.

I have a couple of cards in my stash that I'm holding onto since a long time. They are mostly gold! :) And this album is perfect to grab them all and fill the pockets with journaling! I find it very practical when the notes our Elf write are on 3x4 cards. ;) And when Arielle wants to write a note to Harmony, she knows where to get the cards too. :) I don't really worry about which cards we used. Red, gold, this company or that one, at the end everything seems to always blend nicely together.

Oh and having your child write to their Elf is a great way to incorporate their handwriting in the album. That's the most precious thing!!!!

I have several number styles. I mix them up. I don't have a system. I take the one that seems fitting when i do the spread. :) I love to add small die cuts and stickers too. Pretty Little Studio has the prettiest!!!!

Sometimes, when a card has 2 sides, like this one where the Elf wrote on the back side, I will make sure the card is easily accessible (look for the opening. If the card goes in the pocket in the back of the page, it's probably not the best spot for it. Top pockets are always great!) and I will add some kind of tab or ribbon or in this case a die cut that is easy to grab and I'll add a small note saying pull. I'm just realizing now that that this could refer to the pull up diapers. It was not my intention... 2nd language problems. ;) But it's ok. It's all ok. :)

Daughter's hand writing goes directly in the album. No need to add anything :)

Labels of all sizes and colors are always always always my go to to add little snippets, or bigger snippets, of journaling.

When i go back to look at older December Daily albums, I always find that these big pictures are the best!!! And they are easy to work with in a small album like this.

Ok, that's it for today. I hope you enjoyed the start of my album. :)
I promise to show you more very soon.

Oh and come back tomorrow morning as I will let you tour my studio!!! :)

December Daily - Day 30 & 31

Hi everyone!
Salut tout le monde!

There we are. At the end of this December Daily adventure! I think that I don't need to tell you again how much this project means to me. If you haven't done it this year, I encourage you to try it next year. And if you're afraid of not being consistent, well, skip a day. Who cares! What will be there will be there, right? :) Ok so here are the two last days and the end of my album.

On the 30 and 31 we all had a cold so the month didn't end exactly as we would have liked. But we enjoyed family time at home, in peace and quiet, playing with our Christmas gifts. :)

The lines here are made of gold ink.

And this gold foil is from the Heidi Swapp's page protectors.

I used a small wood veneer from Tchoubi and a card from Heidi Swapp.

Gold is all over the place for this last day of the year! :) I love it!
J'adore!

And our last meal and toast deserved a whole page :)

The blue celebrate was in my december kit. I typed my journaling and printed it on vellum. I cut out stripes with my scissors. I didn't want it  to be too perfect. :) A gold star chipboard (Heidi Swapp) and a glittery gold mat. Swoon. :) That was it!

To close the album I used a really cool patterned paper from the kit and added a golden star right in the middle.

We are done! Phew! You know what, making the December Daily is really nothing compared to blogging about it! ;) So again, you might want to consider it next year. :) Ah and Ali's kit is always worth it. It's 99$ but, oh well, it's Ali's hand. It's quality, it's gorgeous! And when your album is done you still have plenty for cards and other Christmas related projects. Just saying.
Voilà, c'est terminé. WOW! ;)

And that being said, I would love to tell you that there will be no more Christmas related pages on the blog until December but that would be lying because there's a beautiful page coming up very soon and it might involve Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer. Stay tuned. ;)

December Daily - Day 28 & 29

Hi everyone!
Salut tout le monde!

Days 28 and 29. Day 28 was so short that I thought I'd share them together. :) I don't want to overwhelm you with too many photos, but I think you can take this. ;)

Day 28 is just a half page + a 3x4 page protector for one single card. :) It's from Heidi Swapp and I found it at Michaels. I had to make new holes so that it sits in the middle but it's ok and It's a little bit acting as a page separator between day 28 and 29.

These metallic golden labels are great. :) I bought like 10 sheets when they were on sale at Thanksgiving. I've been using them through an through since I got them.

Here's the little pocket. It was perfect to hold a note harmony (our elf) sent us. I added some glitters and stars and sew the top of the pocket, right throughout the cardstock. I wish I'd have change my white thread for gold one but it's ok.

The reverse side with some more sprinkles.
L'endos.

Day 29 was hockey time for us. The Montreal Canadians played against De Hurricanes here in NC so we just couldn't miss it!!! And look at the seats we got!! Row J! In Montreal for the same price we would have been in the last row of the whole stadium. It was awesome!!

And before the game started, we ate at the "edge Lounge" It was so awesome, while the players were warming up, to eat junk and drink beer. (We have no family around us so we don't get to go out and drink beer very often) ;) lol I added the Go Habs Go with Photoshop before printing my photo.

And here's our little one on the big screen!! She was a favorite of the producer and she appeared there several times and she also caught a Carolina t-shirt. The woman sitting right in front of us was pretty annoyed with us. But that's part of the game I guess when you're rooting for the other team.  We were pretty decent though. I told Arielle we could only scream when there was a goal. :)
J'avais dit à Arielle qu'on pouvait crier seulement quand notre équipe faisait un but. ;)

So anyway, that's it for today. I'll catch up with you tomorrow for days 30 and 31.
Take care,

December Daily - Day 27

Hi everyone!
Salut tout le monde!

Day 27/Jour 27

2 double pages. I'll let the images talk.
2 double pages. Je vais laisser les images parler.

This is a chipboard page that came in Ali Edwards' kit. I only added 3 small golden labels and stamped our names.

On the back of the chipboard page, I added a small St-Niklas bag that my friend from Switzerland sent the girls for Christmas. It was the perfect size and would be big enough to hold all our Christmas cards. It was easy to insert the rings of the album into the bag. I didn't even need to make wholes. I adhered the back of the bag to the back of the chipboard and that makes the whole construction very sturdy.

I added a tag with a simple stitch and gold thread.

Making a mistake in the journaling? Add a tag to cover it up! :)

There you go. :)
I still have 2 december Daily posts for you over the weekend and then we'll put the december stuff away until next year. :) I can't tell you enough how happy I am with this project! See you tomorrow!
