Art Impressions - a challenge for you

Hi everyone!
Have you seen the challenge on the Art Impressions' blog?
You have to make a card using vellum. Easy enough, right? :)
Here's my card:

Very simple but cute. :) Once again I colored the cute bird with water base ink and a watercolor brush. So easy! It took me probably 3 minutes. No joke! I think that the stitching on the card gives it a lot of interest. I hung the little vellum and gold hearts to some string over my birdie and voilà. This could be a card for a friend or someone you love, or for someone who could need a hug at the moment. Who wouldn't need a hug, right? :)

Thanks for looking,

Marie

a 3 columns layout about CHA

Hi everyone!

Here's the page that I was dying to make since I got home from CHA!
As you know, when I came back from Anaheim, my head was spinning hard! So many impressions, ideas, so many people that I met from which so many were idols to me. After I made this page, it's like everything settled in and I could breath slowly again. lol

For lots of photos and words, the best way to put everything down in a comprehensive way was to go with a journalistic approach. I went with a 3 columns design and I wrote the events as they happened. Adding photos to illustrate my words and to make it more comprehensive as soon as we look at the page.

I used my handwriting for the title. Of course, that wasn't the initial plan, but as the text grew bigger and bigger, there just wasn't enough space for more….

Vellum, wood veneer stars and golden stars, vellum.

I created a pocket and a journaling card (made out of my business card) to write about my encounter with Becky Higgins.

A little vellum and gold stitching.

These small Basic Grey letters are so so so useful! I should own way more than I do. The # though is rare. This red set of letters was the only one with a # in it. That's why I used that one. :)

I love these little frames that i found in the Silhouette store. I cut them by hand but it takes me a minute or two.

There you have it, my CHA on paper. I had to let out many details that I wanted to tell though. I might come back and make a second page to complement this one. Maybe a 6x12 à la Noell Hyman. :) We'll see.

Thank for stopping by today!!

Pretty Little Studio - I'm in! :)

Hi everyone!!
Today I am OVER excited because it's my first post over at Pretty Little Studio!
Please go check it out and leave me some love over there. :)

Here's the page you'll find:

In addition to my page, you will find out some fun facts about me. ;)
And you'll get to know my new fellow team designers.

I discovered Pretty little Studio this Christmas when I was working on my December Story Album. I was seeking inspiration and I fell on them because they have LOTS of stunning Christmas products!
And just when I discovered their website, I saw that they were looking for a new design team. I applied and some weeks later, as I was at CHA, the e-mail came in. Can you imagine my excitement?!!!!! Eeeeeeek!!! :)

So anyway I got my first box of goodies when I came back from Canada and I plunged right in! It was like opening an awesome Christmas present!! :)

Now, people who know me well enough know that I need about 10 hours to make a page (from thinking about it to printing the photos and making the page) but this one took me 2 hours!! No joking! Working with specific (fun and beautiful products that I love) was so easy!! If you don't know the company yet, go check it out!! :)

During the 6 months I'll work with Pretty Little Studio, I'll make 4 pages a month. Sometimes I'll have a sketch to work from and some times I'll have a specific product to work with or a photo to get my inspiration from. I am sure it will push my boundaries so stick around to see all the good stuff coming! :)

Ok and now, before I let you go, let's show you the detail shots of my page:

Look at the die cut! And the little banner and the flair.

The Speech bubbles with a little bit of stamping.

The star is also from Pretty Little Studio. Love the sheet I got with tons of stars of various colors!

Look at this little tab. :)

Isn't she so cute????!!

I typed my journaling with my computer but I can,t wait to get a typewriter….someday!! ;) I'm working on it. lol

Thanks for stoping by! I'm really happy and thankful that you are here.
See you again soon!

Easter cards anyone?

Hi everyone!
Yes, I already started making Easter cards. What about you? :)
When I saw this little rabbit in the shop, I couldn't resist him.

Unfortunately the sentiment doesn't show very well on the picture. I stamped in white and embossed with clear glittery embossing powder. The egg is also pretty sparkly. I think this little bunny doesn't need much to look cute. :)

Happy Stamping!!

Project Life - Week 7

Hi everyone!

Here's my Project Life again, with week 7:

I used my Studio Calico Project Life kit mixed with my Studio Calico Scrapbooking kit. I used to find that there was not much stuff in my PL kit but since I receive both kits combined, I have lots of coordinating embellishments and I LOVE that!

So usually when I'm working on a month, I'll first grab the kit of that month (they are pretty good at having colors and element that will match the season and the holidays) and I'll work with that first. Then, if I feel the need of something I don't find on my table, I'll go get another kit or separate elements from my stash to fill my need. Here I used a card from Amy Tangerine's new Project Life kit (Plus One) and I also used some Dear Lizzy stickers from her Day Dreamer collection.

I almost ALWAYS need labels and I find them in my stash.

There you go!
Hope I could inspire you a little.
How are you doing with your own Project Life? Still keeping up?! :)
Come again tomorrow for Week 8.

Project Life - Week 6

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Week 6 of my Project life album:

This week I'm using Dear Lizzy: Day Dreamer. Love that kit!!!

This last card is pretty personal journaling so I layered a piece of vellum over it and I added some stickers and labels to hide even more of the text. The vellum is a flap, so to read the card I just have to take it out and lift the top layer. :) The embellishment cluster is "heidi Swapp".

Talk to you soon!!
