Hi everyone!
Today I'm very excited and HAPPY (!!) to share my first Project Life layout as a Hip Kit Club Design team member!! It was my first time every working with this kit and it was a DREAM! Really. I have to say here that for our first month on the team we were spoiled by Kimberley et we received the whole October kit collection!! Yes, the whole thing!! I did 4 weeks of Project Life and could choose whatever I wanted from all the kits and you can imagine that I still have lots of great goodies that I'm dying to play with (as soon as I'm done with my other duties) :) Heavenly!
So anyway, here's my layout.
To make this little card I trimmed a 4x6 piece of one of the patterned paper included in the kit and I let the promo band that is at the bottom of the paper. I added a frame (Pebbles) and a glittery heart that I fastened with my Tim Holz mini attacher. When I make cards out of patterned paper, I look for papers where the pattern won't interfere with my writing. These large bands were perfect!
Look at everything that is happening here! I used a 4x6 card that was made to be used vertical. I turned it to the side, added my photo that I previously mounted on some striped patterned paper (LOVE that paper!!!). I covered the bit of white space that was on the card with this very nice washi tape (Pebbles), I stitched, added the transparent banner on the top (initially it was just a rectangle. I cut out one end to transform it into a banner). I stapled it in place over the blue banner that was part of the card. And I finally dressed up a bit more the white space of the card that was still showing through the washi tape with some beautifuful die cut flowers, leaves and heart. I LOVE the mix of transparency, gold foil and gold glitter with these beautiful rich fall colors.
Here's another view of that beautiful cluster. If you don't plan on getting this kit (I highly recommend the whole kit!, but if you don't want to invest that much), I highly recommend that Cedar Lane Ephemera pack from Pink Paislee. I will probably get myself and extra pack or two!! That's just how much I love it!
The cards in this month's kits are GREAT for journaling!! Here I put two cards side by side to give me more room to tell more of the story.
The kit also include these small and glittery Heidi Swapp letter stickers. AWESOME! The color is just gorgeous. And look at this little fox! These journaling cards were designed by Kim Watson and are exclusive to the Hip Kit Club. Maybe that's one more reason to get the kit. ;) (I feel like I'm a little pushy as I write these lines, but, really, I never liked working with a kit that much!!!)
Some of the cards are so pretty and just perfect to only embellish a little more. These little girls are, of course, representing my 2 daughters on that "big sister" day. :) They are from Simple Stories.
Another journaling card where I covered the big Thanks that was on it, I added a transparent golden arrow (look at the colors at the end of the arrow!), some stitching and a puffy heart.
Here's another transparency with some gold foil. I wish the tiny attacher would have a longer neck.... I couldn't staple the banner directly in the photo and I find that it shows. :( Oh well. Maybe Tim will read this and make my dream come true. :)
Some more gold foil action happening here. This is a transparent sticker with gold foil on it. It's from Pink Paislee. In the booklet there is a gold foil page but also a black page and a white page. The stickers are perfect to stick on photos. I had a booklet like that before and never used it. I might grab it from my to give away pile because I find the effect pretty neat.
Another little die cut piece from the Cedar Lane ephemera pack i was talking about earlier. I stapled it in place and added a Heidi Swapp enamel star.
Some more glitter die cut and transparent embellishments. Love love love them!!
Oh and here are the puffy stickers! :) How cool are they? Also from the Cedar Lane line from Pink Paislee. :)
On this layout I used my typewriter quite a bit to add little notes like this. I usually use A LOT of labels on a spread and when working with a given kit, it's not always possible so I find that typing my journaling and cutting out stripes work as well as using labels. :) Gold glitter...! <3 p="">
Here again.... gold glitter and Heidi Swapp enamel star. Oh and this little fox?! Cute as can be.
There you go! I hope you found lots of inspiration here today!!
Have fun creating. :)
Marie
