Hip Kit Club | Project Life

Hey everyone!

Another Thursday means another share of my Project Life album. :)

As I told you before, I am mixing 8x8 and 6x6 pages to my album this year. The main reason is that I LOVE doing pages but I don't always have time because I'm working on my Project Life album all the time, so this is my way of mixing up things and trying to bring back the fun in the day to day documenting.

I made this whole layout with my January 2016 Hip Kit Club kits: PL kit, Embellishment kit, Cardstock kit. For more detail, visit me on their blog.

I went with a colored background for this photo. I tried it on white, because it's usually what i like best, but it was too harsh. This paper made the whole page feel more "homey".

I layered my photo on lighter papers though. And gave the paper some nice texture.

I used a PL card for my journaling. It's a nice way to tie my 8x8 pages with my pocket pages.

I layered a couple of embellishments and voila. It was a page quickly done and I love it!! :) It blends nicely in my album and makes my photo shine just a little bit brighter than if it was in a pocket.

Hope you like the inspiration!!

December Daily 2015

Hey everyone!

I'm going to share days 10 and 11 today.

DAY 10

Day 10 is a couple pages long.... so bare with me!

It starts with the day itself: Arielle being sick, our Elf on the shelf, and our after school activity - making our Christmas cards. The large number 10 is an acetate and is from Pretty Little Studio.

I don't know if you remember the back of this page? You can see it here. So on this page, because of all the transparencies used, I had to stick to the same formats of photos and cards...

I started with a polaroid style photo. I achieve that by printing in a smaller format and leaving some white at the bottom and around the photo. It's fun because it gives a little room for journaling and you don't need to add a label.

I simply adore this card from Pretty Little Studio with the writing at the bottom and empty space. It was perfect to add the sticker Arielle got at the doctor's office. (Arielle is way too big for stickers apparently - or that's what she thinks anyway - so I can keep the stickers and she's fine with it.) ;)

I really love this picture as Arielle was picking up Maya so she can see our elf Harmony who was too high for maya to see. ;) I have all 3 on the picture and the girls look so happy. I backed the photo with red stripes paper and added a red foil label (Pretty little Studio).

A really cute photo is always worth to blow up. I added just some little embellishments.

A word label, a glittery golden heart and some golden thread.

And because we were working on the cards that day, even though we didn't finish them, I decided to add the final card and the stamps I used this year. :) I backed it up with some gold foil wood patterned paper (Pretty Little Studio) and I added a little stripe of star velum at the bottom with some gold stitching.

I know some of you are wondering if Maya made this card. No. She didn't. After finishing coloring all the little pieces, she was so tired she decided to stop. So I took my pieces first and at the end I didn't need the pieces made by the girls. ;) Maybe one year they'll be old enough to make cards start to finish.

I love it when they have special Christmas stamps. I've always been collecting stamps. I used to put them in a collectionner's album, but I like it this way too. :)

Here I used another 3x8 page protector to add lots of journaling (lots is a big word. It's not that much after all). And I used velum tape at the bottom of that tiny page to match the bottom of the other page.

I also added some red stars from Ali Edward's December Daily kit and a flair also from her kit I believe...I'm not sure anymore though.

These layers make me happy.

On the reverse of this little page, I have a picture of the gift I sent to our niece in Switzerland. I added a cute Santa die cut, a label and some stars. The right page is a Christmas card we received from Arielle's piano Teacher. Can't leave these pretty cards out of the album, right?! :)

DAY 11

I decided that one of the card my husband was giving his employees could be used as a page.

I stapled the number 11.

And inside the card I built my page. The journaling has been written on the bottom part of the card. And my photo right up there with some layering and embellishing.

The snowman is a PL card from Pretty Little Studio. I also added a frame, a die cut, a cut-apart word (all from pretty Little Studio) and all of this lay on top of Pretty Little Studio velum. I also stitched on the velum before adhering it to the card to make some words stand out.

Another cute die cut right here :) Ah and a border of silver snowflakes paper.

VoilĂ !!
Now you have seen everything from my December Daily up to this day. I'll have to get to work before I can show you the rest. I hope I can really finish it sooner than later! I can't imagine doing this in February. At least my tree is still up ;)

Ok, talk to you again soon!!

Pretty little Studio | December Daily 2015

Hi everyone!

Here I am today with day 12 of my December Daily album. For the details of the products, please take a look at my post on the Pretty Little Studio blog. Thank you! :)

As much as I love the pocket pages, these 6x8 traditional style pages are my favorite to make! I can get really creative with them.

I've been waiting for the perfect event in December to use my favorite Pretty Little Studio paper!! And here it came: breakfast with Santa! :) I printed a small sized photo and placed it in the middle of the swirl. I layered quite a bit of patterned papers under it.

I then added words and texture and plain fun.

I love these glittery stars!! And I also love to use the remaining of my paper when I'm done cutting with my Silhouette!! My typewriter is also coming handy (besides the fact that my husband hears me type when he sleeps in the guest room, right on top of my studio. lol (ps: he sleeps in the guests room when my daughters are sick and will most likely land in our bed. LOL)

This layering of patterns, colors, glitters, vellum, foil, gold and silver really makes me happy!! <3 p="">

And adding a min paperclip also makes me happy. ha! Small things. Oh and the look of my daughter... lol

So this is the back of my page. I backed my large photo of Santa overlooking my daughters who are picking a gift in his large bag with a wood pattern paper (Pretty Little Studio)

I stitched around the photo and added a cluster of happy things. Vellum tape, gold foil label and "capture the" coming from a PL card are all from Pretty little Studio. My brush pen is coming to good use in this year's album. :)

That's it for Day 12. Watch for Days 10 and 11 really soon on my blog. :)

December Daily 2015

Hey everyone!

Who is still not done with their December Daily? I must admit that it's my first time getting so much time to finish this project and it's kind of scarry! The area in front of our family computer is a total mess and getting on the nerves of everyone trying/wanting to used the computer. I really wish I could wave my wand and be done with it.

So anyway, this morning I decided I'd photograph all the pages I made up to now to get in it. Here they are.

CALENDAR

In my last December Daily post I left you at Day 8. And then, I decided to add my monthly calendar to my album. I filled all the little boxes and so it gives me a goaded of everything that happened during the month.

I took this calendar from Marie Lottermoser/Stitch in time and you can also get yours for free. Thank you so much Marie! This is one of my little December Daily pleasure each year! :)

I added a small tab (Pretty Little Studio) so it would be easy to find in the album.

DAY 9

My Day 9 consists of a double page spread + a small 3x8 insert.

The left page is a full page photo with a cluster of embellishments at the top.

Here is the "other" side of the stitched calendar tab. The stitching is definitely messy, but I think it adds a lot of style. :)

Here is the small cluster of embellishments. White wooden tree is from the Ali Edwards kit, Red metallic label is from Pretty Little Studio and the peace on earth tag is from Basic Grey. I added some embroidery silver string.

I really love the size of this little insert. It was my first time using it and it came really handy as I was looking for a way to write more text. I printed on a blue paper.

I added a very old brad. You know, old is not bad, it just mean that it was so cute I waited to find the perfect fit for it. ;)

On the other side of the page I typed our schedule of the day.

And I added a fun Pretty Little Studio die cut at the bottom with a little acetate tree.

This is the second page of the spread. When i have lots of stories, i go with a page protector with lots of pockets and I use blank space to write.

These PL cards with lots of white space have to be my favorite! Oh and I just love this font!!!

It was our piano day, so it seemed only fitting to use some clear music sheets to back my pictures. They are from Pretty Little Studio.

I really love these vellum stickers snowflakes!!

This here is a gold foil polka dot paper that I cut down to 3x4. I typed my journaling with my typewriter on a white piece of hardtack that I layered on top of the gold foil paper and I added a vellum tape (Pretty Little Studio)

Here you get a better view of the clear music sheet. I added a red foil label. On the other sided I adhere the same size photo and another label.

Tomorrow I'll show you Day 12, because that's what I'm showing on the Pretty Little Studio blog.  And I'll come back with days 10 and 11 shortly after that. Stay tuned!! :)

Hip Kit Club | Project Life

Hey everyone!!

Here is my latest Project Life spread:

I used the January 2016 Hip Kit Club PL kit, Main kit and embellishment kit. So many possibilities! So many small pieces to add the perfect accent and also so many papers, colors and patterns to layer and give dimension and interest to every pocket.

Throughout the spread i played with pinks, turquoise and yellow. I played with foil, very thick chipboard pieces, shiny brads, puffy stickers.

Here's an example of layering. I added vellum, cardstock and paper. I used my typewriter for my journaling and my date stamp. I need to remember to add the date more often throughout my PL album. Now that I scrapbook by month, I like to have more places when I can have a grip on the specific date.

Gorgeous gorgeous brads!!! And glittery accents too.

Typewriter + puffy stickers for the win. Its really nice when you can use a large piece, here the number 2, and layer next to it many smaller pieces that will take up the same height. Notice how the pieces here create steps.

Highlight on part of a card by adding one small embellishment. The red really pops out of the card now.

Something new for me, I typed my journaling on tone on tone paper strips. I also added a label on which I didn't write. Gasp!! But it's all ok. :) It's really cute actually.

In the PL cards pack, there are many cards with wholes in them, like here, the heart. I folded a piece of vellum and stitched it in the back of the heart, leaving an opening to add some sequins (from my stash). I stitched the opening and added a chipboard heart.

To write on stickers like I did here, I run my whole sheet of stickers through my typewriter.

Layering of stickers and chipboard are fun. It does get really thick though. Think of using these tiny pieces that are often coming in the letter packs.

Foil and glitter make for a good mix.

Small sticker labels are great to add details without having to write much.

On this cute card I typed some journaling and I added some gold heart rub-ons. And on the card our Elf had left us, I simply added an heart embellishment with tiny staples.

I used my fuse tool to create a see through pocket. The aqua acrylic circles were simply too cote not to use them :) And because they were see through, I just didn't want anything behind them. It gorgeous with the light coming through. I added an ampersand girl die cut, a wood veneer and some gold string.

Cute chipboard heart buttons in different colors, textures and sizes.

And finally, I got great use of my alphas. Mix the fonts, sizes and colors. Those big chipboard or die cut pieces are great to add gorgeousness to a simple card quickly.

Hope you like it!! Have a look at the Hip Kit Club January 2016 kits. If you are looking for a kit containing as many embellishments as cards,  I highly recommend these kits!! You get really a lot for your money!!

Talk to you again soon!!
